North Coast Creations' December Release

Welcome to North Coast Creations' December Release and Blog Hop!  I am excited to show you a couple of projects using some of the new stamps.  Both are perfect for those "little boys" in your life!  If you little man likes dump trucks and/or tractors be sure to check out all the amazing projects on the hop today.  And if inspiration isn't enough motivation to hop along you might win just for commenting on the Design Team Blog Posts!  You have a chance to win a $10 NCC Gift Certificate, good towards the purchase of NCC Stamps.  But hurry!  You have until December 17, 2014 at 10:00 PM EST to leave a comments on the participating designers' blogs for a chance to win! Two random winners will be selected from the comments left on the designers' blogs.  The winners will be announced on the NCC Blog on December 18, 2014, so be sure to check back there to see if you have won!

Now that you know exactly how you can play along, let's look at some projects!  The first card I have for you today features the new set Dump Truck Birthday.  I created this one for our youngest grandson.  He just turned 5 last week!

I started out with a 5.5 x 4.25 black card stock base and added a white mat.  I chose a simple black and white polka dotted DP for the base and added stamped images (caution tape and warning sign).  Both of those were stamped on goldenrod colored CS.  I stamped my focal image on Copic compatible paper and colored it to resemble one of his favorite toys.  I didn't want everything to look perfectly plumb.  Little boys like things to be a bit more haphazard!  lol

Here's the stamp set I used...

And if tractors are his thing...

I couldn't give this card to my little guy.  He favors a certain green and gold colored tractor!  I on the other hand, grew up with a certain blue tractor on our family farm...  makes for entertaining dinner conversations...  lol...

and here's the set you see here, I Dig You.

Now don't forget to visit all of my fellow "Coasters" and comment along the way!  And please stop back by this week to see several more projects I have to share!  Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

~ I Am the Gate ~

Thank you for stopping by.  I must extend my deepest apologies for my absence this past week.  We had a double whammy in our household last week with the loss of a family member and my own struggle with illness.  I find myself with an odd mix of emotions, both sad and happy.  I am sad that my uncle is no longer with us, however, I am happy to know he is rejoicing in Heaven.  There are worse things then death my friends.  The project I have today has been languishing on my desk.  I created and photographed it well over a week ago but just haven't had the heart and/or resolve to post.  I think the scripture is quite fitting.  I feel certain my Uncle would love it!

And the products you see today...

CSBD74 - PEACEFUL POINSETTIA DIES

Trust in Dreams ~ Masking Tape and Ink Technique

Good Monday morning!  I have a clean and simple card to share today using masking tape.  Yes, masking tape!  I took three similar shades of blue/green ink and gently ran a bit of masking tape over the ink pad.  I then used each swath to sweep the ink on my paper.  I added the lightest cooler first, medium color second and finished up with the darkest hue.  I then stamped my sentiment on with black ink.  Super easy and pretty too.  :-)

I started out with a black card stock base (5.5 x 4.25) and added a coordinating seafoam mat.  I used white CS for my color wash and sentiment.  I finished with a black die cut fence.  Here are some of the items you see...

I can't wait to try using masking tape on some other projects!  Thanks for stopping by!

Good Monday morning!  Welcome to the first day of December!  That means Christmas is only 24 days away!  This month, Our Daily Bread Designs has some special sets to share including one that is perfect for last minute Christmas cards!  Before we get to the cards I have today, let me share how you can add to your own Our Daily Bread Designs' stamp stash!  This month as part of the hop, three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You must hurry though.  You have until December 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EST to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on December 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

I have a couple of projects to share including one using the set, Let It Snow and some new ODBD Paper, the Patriotic Collection.

I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper and colored it with alcohol markers.  I added a bit of glitter glue to the "snow" after trimming.  My card base is a deep red with Kraft paper matting and layers of DP from the new Patriotic Paper Collection.  I took a bit of leftover board DP and stamped my sentiment on it and added die cut holly and branches found in some of ODBD's older die sets,  Fancy Foliage and Circle Ornaments

Here's the new items you see today...

I also decided to create a project with a bit more of a spring feel to it!  Thankfully, we haven't had much bad weather in my part of the country (YET) so I opted to create a breath of fresh air...

This time, I used a moss green card stock with white matting to frame the DP from Our Daily Bread Designs' Blushing Rose Paper Collection.  I used last month's release, Sparkling Stars Die, to cut out the center with coordinating papers.  I then popped the image up with dimensional foam.  I used Asters and Leaves Die along with the Fancy Foliage Die to create a floral spray.  The ephemera were stamped and cut using the new ODBD releases, Admit One, Admit Three and coordinating Mini Tags Die.

The new release items...

The versatility of these sets...  AMAZING!  Now be sure to stop by and leave some love for all of today's designers!  You might just win a GC from Our Daily Bread Designs!  Thanks for stopping!

WAW160 ~ James 1:17 ~ Every Good Gift

It's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge

Be sure to check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!

We appreciate our sponsor's generosity so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who provided our prizes this week!

This week we are visiting the book of James...  a powerful reminder of where our blessings come from...

This week, I decided to use die cuts to create a turkey image.  I printed our scripture on Kraft paper and used a circle die to cut it and a smaller circle for the head.  I split a leaf paper punch (red CS) to create the gobbler.  The beak is also a die cut.  I chose a variety of Thanksgiving/Fall themed papers and used an oval die to create feathers.  A few bits of dimensional foam, help him jump off the page!

Thanks for taking a few moments to stop by!  And have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Now on to my projects for the month...  The first features the new Nutcracker  image colored with copics and layered up!

I stamped the image on Copic compatible paper and colored the image similar to some real nutcrackers on found on the internet.  I opted for a Kraft card base (5.5 x 4.25) and matted my DP with black card stock.  I added a variety of distressed papers, including a book print, music notes and traditional Christmas print.  I added a few die cuts accents from our sister company, Our Daily Bread Designs.

Here's the single image, Nutcracker...

and ODBD products...

And now on to the super fun Snow Angel Murphy,
or as I loving call him "Saint Murphy..."

Here's the image you see...

and the sentiment from
Old Fashioned Santa

I couldn't resist coloring Mr. Murphy like one of my beloved Saint Bernards!  I started with black and white card stock for my base and matting.  I then added a burlap and snowflake print DP.  The image (colored with Copics) takes center stage with just a bit of glitter glue around him for added effect.  This one certainly brings me love and joy!

Now don't forget to stop by and comment at each designer's blog along the way!  And if you get turned around visit the NCC Blog to get back on track!

And here are the Coasters to guide  you along your way on this creative journey!  Thanks for stopping by!
