fun and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

And a very special thank you to Bugaboo and Flying Unicorn!  These fabulous companies provided our prizes this week!

This week we are visiting scripture from the book of Galatians...

I started with both white and red card stock.  I also pulled out a nautical DP to frame the sentiment panel.  I used red to create my card base (a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card) and cut a slightly smaller white panel (4 x 5.25).  I cut another red panel an additional 1/4 smaller and used my ScorPal to score the paper at 1/4 inch intervals.  I swiped a white ink pad on the recessed side (where the score lines were recessed) and allowed it to dry.  I then used a gray ink pad and swiped more ink for a richer look.  Once the panel dryed, I added it to the card base and mat.  I used a plain doily (Wilton) and added it to the center with dimensional foam.  I printed the scripture on white CS and matted it with the dark blue nautical DP I had on hand.  I added a copper flourish (The Paper Studio) and a few blossoms and paper punched leaves/twigs.  I also placed a newspaper DP print "runner" under the sentiment panel!  So fun and easy!

Today's card was based on a sketch...
Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...

Blessings...

QFTD216 ~ True Friendship ~

Good morning!  It's hard to believe another week is here!  The weather is warm here today.  That makes it the perfect day to stay indoors and craft!  :-)  I have a card to share in honor of this week's Split Coast Stamper Queen for the Day, meisu4.  I chose to use a similar design and weathered DP base as one of her creations.  I sure hope she likes it!

and a close up of the dies used...

I started with a pale pink card stock base (5.5 x 4.25 inch card) and added a bit of Kraft paper.  I used Our Daily Bread Designs' new DP, Blushing Rose Collection for my sentiment panel.  I used ODBD's Vintage Flourish Pattern Die to cut the desired panel and inked up a sentiment from My Friend.  I selected coordinating papers from the collection and created my vase (Decorative Vase Die) and asters (Asters and Leaves Die).  Leftover Kraft came in handy for my vines (Fancy Flourish Die) along with some white CS scraps for other blossoms (Ornamental Crosses Die).  A soft moss green card stock worked nicely for the leaves (Asters and Leaves Die).  I cut my die work out first and positioned it (before adhering) and used a stamp positioner to decide where to position my sentiment.  (A stamp positioner makes it SO much easier...)  Some clear glue and tiny gold micro beads adorn the centers along with tiny black jet beads for the smaller flowers.  And did I mention the distress ink?  I had to ink up my Kraft and DP before placement...  :-)

Here's the items you see used today...

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Hugs

A Look Back at ODBD's June Release

Time is moving very fast these days!  It's hard to believe July 4th is just around the corner.  In this part of the country, school shopping begins any day!  It seems like just yesterday that the Class of 2014 graduated!  My, how time marches on!

Today I am taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' June Release.  Here is the card I created using the Cherry Blossom stamp set, Asters and Leaves die plus new paper from the Blushing Rose Collection. For more inspiration using the June Release be sure to stop by the ODBD Blog.

Here's today's project...

I started with a pink 5.5 by 4.25 card base.  I added a slightly smaller gold CS panel.  I used ODBD's Vintage Flourish Pattern die and Blushing Rose Paper to create a "window."  I stamped my sentiment (Cherry Blossom) on coordinating ledger paper from the Blushing Rose Paper collection and trimmed it to fit under the coordinating frame.  I added the frame with dimensional foam.  I used the Fancy Foliage die and gold CS to create my vines and the new Asters and Leaves to make my pink blossoms.  I added some glossy glue to the centers before adding gold microbeads to each flower.  A pink dyed seam binding bow and strategically placed gold flourish finish it off!  And if you look REALLY close...  you will see where I used a gold marker to gently distress the inside edges of my "frame."  So what do you think???

The above project features the following new ODBD products...

and old sets...

This week we are visiting scripture from the New Testament...

I used a heart shaped die to reveal my scripture panel and added a small gingham bow to coordinate with the vintage style paper.  A simple flower spray with paper punched greenery and a gold rhinestone flourish adorn the corner.  I love this scripture!  No added adornment for those words...

QFTD215 ~ Rose of Galilee ~

Good Tuesday morning!  Today, I am playing along with Split Coast's Queen for the Day Challenge.  This week's honoree, bejoyce (aka Barbara) uses an abundance of blossoms in her gallery.  Whether it is die cuts, stamp images or delightful papers, posies are definitely in her favorites column!  So with that being said, I decided to color up this lovely rose image from Our Daily Bread Designs in Barbara's honor...

and the stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs...
Galilee Rose Co.

I triple matted the image with red, black and white, coloring the image in shades of red.  I trimmed the image to fit and added 4 flat backed jet beads on all four corners.  A pretty simple treatment for this card...  I really wanted the IMAGE to stand out!

Thanks so much for stopping by to share just a few moments of your day.  I hope this card inspires you to do some coloring today!

Hugs and blessings...

ODBD ~ Cherry Blossoms ~

Today I have a project featuring the new stamp, Cherry Blossom from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I chose a Kraft base with white matting and spring colors from a coordinating paper collection.  I inked the base layer of DP with tea stain ink and stamped the cherry blossom image with a pale khaki ink.  I chose to stamp the sentiment in a rich red.  To accent the banner, I chose Asters and Leaves and Fancy Foliage Dies.

Here's some of the items you see today...

Thanks so much for popping in!  I hope you have a wonderful Friday!

This week we are visiting scripture from the Old Testament, specifically Psalms...

I used coordinating designer paper by Crate Paper (Style Board) and a base of pale pink with black card stock matting.  I used a velvet rick rack to help cover a seam and printed my scripture directly on some musical themed DP from the collection.  I hand cut it to create a banner.  The pearl flourish (Queen & Co.) took a few nips and tucks to create the flourish I wanted.  I used dies from Our Daily Bread Designs to create the beautiful pink "aster" and pale green foliage.  I hope you are as taken with the design as I am!  Until next time...

Blessings...

Lori

QFTD214 ~ A Bike, Flowers AND a Thank You

Good afternoon and thanks for stopping by!  Today, I am taking a few moments to play along with this week's Queen for the Day Challenge at Split Coast.  The featured stamper is the lovely and talented Nancy.  I took my tribute from one of her favorite activities...  biking...

I chose a very clean color palette, black and white and added a splash of color with my Flower Soft.  The card base is white card stock with a layer of black matting.  I used a cloud embossing folder to create the background (only on the top 3/4 of the card.)  I placed a die cut black bike and stamped my sentiment on the bottom with black ink.  I added a layer of green Flower Soft and then a Patriotic mix.  Thanks so much for visiting!  I certainly hope you like it!  {{hugs}}

ODBDSLC205 ~ White on White ~

It's been a while since I played in ODBD's Shining the Light Challenge.  This week the challenge is "white on white."  And I decided to use one of the new stamp sets, Iris and the fun new die, Asters and Leaves.

The stamp set...

and dies...

CSBD30 - QUATREFOIL PATTERN DIE

CSBD26 - ANTIQUE LABELS & BORDER DIES

CSBD57 - ASTER DIES

I began with a white card stock base and added the Quatrefoil Pattern Die cut with dimensional foam.  I stamped the Iris image (Memento Flannel Gray) and added my sentiment with Memento's Tuxedo Black.  The Antique Labels and Borders Die  set looks just perfect framing this image!  A few blossoms from the new die, Asters and Leaves nestled on the white vines from the Fancy Foliage die finish it off.  A few pearls peeking out...  **sigh**

This makes me smile!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!  {{hugs}}

A Look Back at North Coast Creations' May Release

Welcome!  Thank you for stopping by and sharing a bit of your day.  Today, we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations' May Release.  I hate to see the month go...  Isn't spring just flying by?  **sigh**

All the more reason to celebrate good weather and all of those spring and summer activities!  And with that in mind, here is the card I created using Happy Camper.

I stamped one tree image on Copic compatible paper and colored it.  I then stamped, colored and cut two more trees along with the campfire and sign.  After die cutting the original image, I used a scallop punch, sponge dauber and light blue ink to create faux "clouds."  I added the base image to another blue die cut panel before affixing to the die cut card stock base.  I added my two trees, campfire and sign with dimensional foam for added depth.  I love the airy feel to this design!

Here's another peek at the set I used...

I have a couple of projects to share today featuring a few lovely new sets.

The first one showcases the new set, Iris.

I created a center step card for the iris image, coloring the image on Copic compatible paper.  If you think some of the dies and paper look familiar...  you are right!
Here's the new...

And here is a paper collection from May Rustic Paper that worked out perfectly with this image...

RUSTIC BEAUTY COLLECTION 6x6 PAPER PAD
plus an older die set, Fancy Foliage

My second card features the new paper collection,
Blushing Rose and the beautiful stamp set, My Friend.

I stamped the rose image (My Friend) and colored it with Copics before fussy cutting it.  I used a Kraft card stock base, layered on a soft green DP from the Blushing Rose Collection.  I added a Kraft die cut frame using Vintage Flourish Pattern die, another coordinating DP layer (Vintage Labels) and stamped my sentiment (My Friend) with a rich elderberry colored ink.  I added the fussy cut rose image on the bottom and voila!

additional products you see on both cards today...

CSBD55 - VINTAGE LABEL DIES

CSBD56 - VINTAGE FLOURISH PATTERN DIES

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don't forget to visit all of the designers today and share the love!  You might just win one of those gift certificates!  :-)
