ODBD ~ No Place Like Home ~

There is no place like home!  About 7 years ago, my Mom moved out of the old farmhouse she had lived in for 42 years.  That old house was the only place I called home.  I've noticed since she left that I don't feel the same I used to.  It's strange not going "home" for Christmas or Thanksgiving.  It's odd not walking the driveway and fields where I grew up.  It seems no matter how busy life became, that place was my refuge...   a place of tranquility...  a place that reminded me of my earthly father.  I remember how the screen door clattered when Dad walked in the door.  I remember how the front stairwell creaked when you were 10 minutes past curfew...  ;-)

I loved that place.  Somehow, I think heaven will be like that too.  A place where you feel at home...

Today's card featuring Christmas Card Paper Collection 2015, Christmas Tunes stamp set and the Windowsill Candles Die set...

I used my Scor-Pal to create "bead board" for the bottom of my card.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and framed it with a Stitched Ovals Die.  I stamped the mountain view with a soft gray ink and lightly sponged the sky a summer blue.  I cut it down so it fit my Welcoming Window Die with Windowsill Candles Die set nestled on the sill.

So here are the new items you see...

A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' Mid Month Release

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' October Mid-Month Release.  Here is the card I created using Everlasting Light and Christmas Candles Die.  For more inspiration using the October Mid-Month Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.  So for this card I decided to go with a silver and white color scheme...

I started with a white card stock base and added a silver poster board mat created with ODBD's Flourished Star Pattern Die and slightly smaller white card stock layer.  I added a bit of DP from the Winter Paper Collection trimmed with the Leafy Edged Borders Die.  I stamped my sentiment (from the ODBD mid-month release, Everlasting Light) on white card stock with silver ink.  I then cut and embossed the panel with the Stitched Ovals Die.  I took a bit of silver PB and used the new Christmas Candles Die with a bit of dimensional foam to create a bit of depth in the corner.  So here are the mid-month items you see...

and some old favorites...

ODBD ~ Come Let Us Adore Him ~

Welcome!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Today I have a card that features ZERO stamping!  Now, before you insist that hubs takes my temperature...  I haven't given up stamping!  But when you find a lovely die that can complete your sentiment need...  BAM!

Here's the Adore Him die from this month's Our Daily Bread Designs' release layered on a lovely DP from ODBD's Christmas Paper Collection 2015...

I started with a Kraft card stock base and added a red mat.  I trimmed the DP down slightly smaller and used ODBD's Antique Labels and Borders Die along with some leftover Kraft paper for my sentiment base.  I even pulled out the Circle Ornaments Die set to create my holly leaves in the corner...  Now wasn't that fun and SUPER easy!  Did I say BAM already????

Here are the new items you see...

ODBD ~ The Savior Reigns ~

And thank goodness He does!  Welcome!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  My husband and I did a bit of local sightseeing.  We visited a few craft stores and took in the beautiful fall foliage!  It is hard to believe that November is just around the corner.  And if I doubted it for a minute the deluge of garland, ornaments and wrapping paper at our weekend stops only reinforced that Christmas is around the bend.  This year, I have stashed a few cards away already...  so I don't get that glazed over eyes...  deer in the headlight look...  that often comes about the day after Thanksgiving.  Today, I pulled out a few old ODBD favorites plus the recent Christmas Carols stamp set release....

I started with a white card stock base and added a slightly smaller mirrored silver poster board mat.  I used ODBD's Flourished Star Pattern Die to cut another white mat out and added a slightly smaller DP layer (found in ODBD's Winter Paper Collection.  I cut a die layer using the star die and then stamped my sentiment on with black ink.  A white poinsettia (from the Peaceful Poinsettias Die)
and foliage (from North Coast Creations' Flourished Vines Die) finish it off.

Here is the recent stamp recent stamp release I used today...

A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' October Release

Good morning and welcome to a special look back at this month's Our Daily Bread Designs' October 1st release.  Here is the card I created using Christmas Tunes. For more inspiration using the October Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog. I started with a 5.25 x 5.25 rich red card stock base and layered it up.

I chose this sentiment from the new Christmas Tunes set and used the coordinating Vintage Labels Die to cut it out.  A bit of greenery and a lush poinsettia (Fancy Foliage and Peaceful Poinsettias Die) set off the corner.  If you look closely you can even see a couple of jingle bells in the mix!  I adhered two sheets of the new Christmas Paper Collection 2015 pages together and folded them back to create my pocket.  The Doily Die and Ornate Borders and Flowers Die accent it.

So here are the items you see today...

and some old favorites...

ODBD ~ Smile... God Loves YOU!

Good morning!  Today, I have a card to share using a few old favorites from Our Daily Bread Designs... including last month's Pretty Posies Die...

I started with an vanilla card stock base and used two coordinating patterns from ODBD's Soulful Stitches Paper Collection.  I cut my blossoms using the Pretty Posies Die and gently sponged each center with a soft yellow distress ink and the edges with a soft peach ink.  I spritzed each with water before using a stylus to shape the petals.  When they dried, I stacked each up and added a pearl center with clear glaze.  A few strategic vines (Fancy Foliage Die) hide the DP seam below.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the DP with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Here are the items you see...

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Monday!

Now here is my first card featuring Everlasting Light stamp set and the new Merry Mosaics Dies...

I started with a simple white card stock base and added gold poster board cut to fit.  I added a slightly smaller DP panel featuring ODBD's new paper collection, Christmas Card Collection 2015.  I stamped my sentiment (Everlasting Light) with gold ink on ecru card stock.  I framed my sentiment using some old favorites from ODBD including Stitched Ovals Die and Ovals Die (gold poster board base).  I used the new Merry Mosaics Die to cut out alternating layers of ecru card stock and DP, overlapping each and adding gold micro beads to each center.  A gold vine (Fancy Foliage Die) adds a bit of whimsy.

Here are the new items from today's release...

and some old favorites...

Here is another project featuring the new Perfect Light stamp set and Christmas Candles Die...

I started with a white card stock base and gold mat.  I added a slightly smaller layer of DP, distressed and inked, from the October 1st, Christmas Paper Collection 2015 release.  I stamped the sentiment (Perfect Light) on white card stock and after cutting and embossing with the Antique Labels and Borders Die, and lightly inked the edges.  I used the new Christmas Candles Dies to create my candles and inked the flames with Dandelion and Tangelo Ink.  A bit of Desert Sand adorns the top of each candle.  I added twigs, a faux poinsettia and berries all created with this fun die.  And tucked in the corner...  an old favorite Decorative Corners Die.

So here are the new items you see...
