Silver and White

Today, I have a couple of cute projects to share using a few items from Our Daily Bread Designs' January release.  First up is a simple bookmark  perfect for gift giving and oh so simple to make.

I started with white card stock and stamped the image with silver gray ink before die cutting.  I used ODBD's Find Refuge stamp.  (It is actually in the Bible Journaling collection but is oh, so perfect for this use as well!)  And the bookmark is easy peazy with ODBD's Bookmark Dies.

And this little beauty...  perfect for wedding favors, anniversary party treats...  you name it!

A bit of white card stock and ODBD's Bountiful Basket Die create the perfect treat basket.  I added a few silver brads to join the handles and some lovely blossoms and sprigs created with ODBD's Bitty Blossoms Die and Lovely Leaves Die.  Silver poster board gives a bit of added embossing along with the lovely tiny silver seed beads.  These would be perfect for customized wedding treats...  with mints...  candy...  whatever you want!

Here are the items you see...

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to come back tomorrow as I share a couple of projects using the new February release from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Blessings!

To Everything There is a Season...

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"
Ecclesiastes 3:1

This passage from Ecclesiastes is one of my favorites.  It is a constant reminder that things change...  As intimidating as that word might be...  change can work for the greater good.  There comes a time when you have to mix things up a bit and evaluate  your priorities.  There are distinct seasons in our lives.  We leave childhood, enter adulthood, marry, raise families, watch those precious ones leave the nest, take care of aging parents...  and say goodbye to people who have been a significant part of our lives.  It is important we live without regret.  Nothing must remain unsaid.  Enjoy your children while you can, spend time with your parents and focus on the relationships that are important to  you.  Work is just that...  work...  and as a wise person once told me...  We work to live, not live to work!  Some seasons bring rain, some bring sunshine and others bring bitter cold.  And after several years of changing seasons, I have decided to focus on the season I am in and lighten the load I carry just a bit.  I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to share my cards.  Unfortunately, this particular season of my life has made the process less enjoyable and dare I say sometimes even painful.  I found out that I wasn't creating with the right frame of mind.  I was focusing more on doing versus letting my Lord speak through my craft.  So after a great deal of reflection, prayer and consultation with trusted advisers...  friends, family and doctors...  I have decided to let some things go.  I will continue to design cards but you just may see a bit less of me.  I have enjoyed my time on multiple design teams but it is time to narrow it down and give honor and glory to the ONE who deserves it.  So I ask your patience as I make this transition.  I will now focus my energies on one design team.  I hope to have more time to HAVE FUN and CREATE from my heart!  You will still see cards from me...  just not as often.  It is of utmost importance that I spend more time treasuring relationships, focusing on my Lord and guarding my health.  Thank you and as always...
Blessings...

Love... the Die Cut...

Hello and welcome to a special inspiration post featuring items from Our Daily Bread Designs' February release.  Included are the Seeds of Today stamp set and Love Script Die.

I began with a white card stock base, cut at 4.25 and 11 inches and then scored and folded at 5.5 inches.  I added a red and white CS panel embossed and die cut with graduated dies from ODBD's Pierced Rectangles Die.  I then stamped the crewel image with red ink randomly on the white panel, taking care to leave a spot in the lower right hand corner for my die.  I positioned the die where desired and after cutting took care to add back any pieces of letters that I might need including the inside of the "O" and "E."

Here are the January items you see...

and an old favorite...

Thanks for spending a few moments of your day with me.  Blessings!

Here is my first project featuring A Happy Hello stamp set...

I chose to stamp the image with Versamark and emboss with red embossing powder directly on the DP from ODBD's Ephemera Essentials Paper Pad.  The powder took on a rich burgundy tone versus the bright Christmas red it really was...  I love those happy accidents...
